Half of the National Park is designated as being of European importance for conservation amongst a patchwork of habitats of exceptional size, scale and quality. Despite the designations there is still plenty of scope for improvements to be made that will make these habitats even better for nature and be more robust for the future.
Throughout this landscape there is a huge amount of conservation work taking place right across the Park by lots of different land owners and managers, communities and organisations.
